Cleaning

  • Best practice for cleaning the exterior of the microphones (dust, hair from wind muffs, dirt)? Can canned air be blown into canal or will it damage condensor mics? What kind of cleaner should be used?

    Hi @Michael Cox,

    Apologies for the delay.

For cleaning the exterior of the microphone, we recommend using a paper towel lightly dampened with warm water. Simply rub the paper towel over the silicone ear to remove dirt, dust, debris, hair, etc. Another option is to use double-sided tape or a lint roller. We do not recommend using any cleaners or solvents as this could damage the integrity of the silicone.

Avoid touching the microphone capsules inside the ear canal at all times. We do not recommend using canned air when cleaning. Blowing directly into the capsule could damage the diaphragm inside.

I hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Best regards,

    ~Brian
