Hi i purchased a 3dio freespace and can only get it to record one side. i know this is an issue with the channels but everything ive tried has not worked. I tried using my phone (google pixel 7) but decided to invest in a minolta mnb10z which has a mic input, but again only one side records. there is no mono/stereo setting on my camera. And a ysplitter resulted in 0 sound at all. i am only using a normal 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack.
please help, im $750 in the hole
Hi @Maggie F,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
To connect directly to a phone, you will need to use a special audio interface that is compatible with smartphones. We recommend the iRig Pro Duo. The iRig Pro Duo is a 2-channel audio interface the converts that analog signal coming from the 3Dio into a digital signal that your smartphone or computer will understand. The iRig Pro Duo also boosts the mic-level signal from the 3Dio to a line-level signal that is audible. The iRig comes with a free app that will allow you to record 3Dio audio along with video from your phone, simultaneously.
If you're only getting a mono signal from your Minolta camera, it is most likely due to the mic-input on the camera only supporting a mono signal. Not all cameras support stereo external microphones, which is required for a 3Dio, which is a stereo microphone.
I hope this information helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
